I cannot tell you how many times I’ve called my mom and said “mom I just need to have your recipe for such and such”. It’s been a pokey accumulation of recipes, but she chuckles each and every time I realize I need another recipe from her.
Now that I offer an adult daughter of my own, personal I really wished to pass the recipes onto her also. Many of these recipes she’s been eating since she was who are old enough for solids. My daughter also offers a recipe book from her aunt on her behalf dad’s side.

Recipe scrapbooks can be given to aunts, uncles, cousins, children etc. A 6×6 scrapbook works wonderfully. They are sufficient to hold a 3×5 index card. You can also readily 8×8 scrapbook and also have the recipes in writing, as opposed to index cards.
I think it is a great mix to blend photos and recipes. For example, a group family photo at the beginning of the album is an excellent way to start the album. If you’ve wanted recipes from multiple family members, put an image of the recipe submitter using one page along with the recipe about the opposite page.

It’s and a great help have a list. Consider the actual recipe one page as well as a shopping list around the opposite page. I very often take a recipe to the market when camping and shop off the recipe page. By creating the list, the recipe book holder just needs to remove the shopping list page and take it on the market.
Another idea is to create a bit of history using your recipes. If you’ve had several family contribute recipes, consider having the recipe onpage, photos one page along with a bit of information about the author with a 3rd page. Most scrapbooks have become expandable, so there exists room for a lot of pages in one album.
All of my cookbooks have measurement charts and converters in them, when making a recipe album, it’s great to add these records to either the back or the front.
Recipe albums make the perfect gift for both the new bride, especially if the gift comes from her husband’s family with recipes for all in the dishes he knew growing up and for the college graduate starting their first home.
